Default Gun Values ?

IFISH Hunt Board,
Looking for the best way to find out the value
of a pistol(P89 Ruger) before I put it on the market to sell.
Any legalities I need to worry about ? Would like to find out rather then shooting in the dark.

You can take a look here: http://www.gunsamerica.com/ to see what they're asking.

Or pick up a copy of Gunlist or Shotgun News if you can find it at the newsstand. Gun shows are also a good source of what a gun like that is worth - if you can find a similar one. I go to almost all of the gun shows and I'd guess your P89 is worth $250-$325 depending on what kind of shape its in. You don't need to run a background check on the buyer since you are a private seller, but it is a crime to sell to someone you KNOW is a felon.

Dont try to ship this gun without going thru a FFL dealer. Other than that I think you have had good advise above.

You can also go to gunbroker.com to get an idea of what people are asking for them. Like mentioned before above gunsamerica is also good. Some things on both sites are over priced but if you compare a few then you can get an idea.
