Public land ? Coyote hunting

I'm looking for some help. On hwy 97 south of Madras there is a weigh station that sits atop a hill. On the east side there is some land that looks to be in the crooked river national grasslands. The country looks great to call coyotes. Does anybody know if that land is public or private? Before you get to that hill ( going south) there is a turn off for Haystack resevoir. Anybody know where I'm talking about. If you go just a few miles farther south than you run into the crooked river bridge.

I know the area. There is a guy named Garold Morey who lives on the hill above the reservoir that can tell you where it is open and where it is not. 541-546-3283. :smile:
