PORTLAND - The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Oregon Department of Agriculture are hosting a Wildlife Damage Council meeting Thursday, Jan. 9, at the ODFW Camp Adair field office near Corvallis. The meeting will take place from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The Council will be discussing ODFW's Landowner Preference Program and future Council actions. Public comment will be taken 1 - 1:30 p.m.
This is the fifth in a series of meetings that have been held around the state by the Council about wildlife damage to private lands, forests and agricultural crops; nuisance wildlife problems; livestock; and agency programs and funding for dealing with wildlife damage problems.
The Council was formed by the 2001 Oregon Legislature to improve communications between state agencies, landowners and other interested parties. Members to the all-volunteer Council are appointed by the directors of the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Oregon Department of Agriculture.
