Default 7/5 to 7/7 Tuna and Salmon out of Depoe.

Fished three days with Seroius Fun and Hook-up. Fished a half day on 7/5 for Salmon with only one keeper. Luckily it was a decent Chinook. Salmon was very slow.

7/6 Tuna hunt was great however. Found fish from 25 miles out to 35 miles. Same area most have been fishing. We managed 19 for the day. We had a 4:00 PM deadline so we quit then and headed in. Nothing special about the bite. Had a about 3 doubles was all. We did find chuming herring chunks seemed to improve the bite. All fish caught while trolling. None on the slide or casting. WP was out for tuna as well so we buddy boated with them. Thanks for the company guys.

7/7 Salmon fishing out of Depoe. 2 limits in 3 hours for salmon today. Just two fishing today. One nook and 3 coho. Smallest was 21". Salmon has improved drastically today. We used tuna bellies cut into strips and stuffed into an RSK today. It did very well. Fished plug cuts next to it with no bites. After the third hit on the tuna belly dropped the herring and both went to tuna bellies. A little hint on this is to pin the hooks in the strip. Seems to hook up better. We lost 4 fish before we figured it out. We also had 2 natives and a couple other long line releases. Bottom line is fishign was great. We fished just south of Depoe in 180-200 feet of water.

Here are a couple pics from out tuna trip.

Our friends came in for a visit.

Great job! Looks like we have the same boat, darn near. How have you liked those Scotty rod holders in the conversion kits (a la existing rod holders?)

The rod holders work well. We use them to spread things out a bit. The only problem we found is you have to tie them down. Last year I went to grab a rob out and the whole thing popped out and went deep 6 on me. 50 bucks later I had a new one to replace it. Not something you want to do very often.

I know. I don't do that very often and I am a big believer in them as you can tell by some of my other posts. I had it on most of the day but took it off when I took of my coat. I just got to darn hot reeling in all them tuners.
