For most of us Northwest sports fans its a refreshing change to see a professional athlete actually exhibit some human emotion. Brett Boone was basically a journeyman infielder that had career years with the Mariners. He was a member of a team that won 108 regular season games. But for the tight-wad policy of Howard Lincoln and ownership, not giving the team the additional players they needed for the playoff run, who knows what may have happened? Boone always had a tight bond with his teammates, manager, the press, and most importantly the fans, always the gentleman! He never embarrassed his family or the city of Seattle. After enduring years of Rasheed(Just cut the check, man!) Wallace and Bonzi (I must have blacked out!) Wells; that is after he spit in the face of an opposing player and gave an obscene gesture to the Rosegarden fans; Northwest sportsfans appreciate a real human being that we can relate to!
