Default Great fishing weekend

What a weekend. Started out saturday, my wife and all three kids wanted to go halibut fishing. That was a treat as wife and two kids rarely want to go. Made the trip to Harrison and picked up a couple flatties on the first drift. All was going well then my daughter decides we need a chum slick. That got my oldest boy not feeling well. After all that excitement my wife whos normally good on the water got to not feeling well. Long story short the halibut trip didn't last too long. Only 2 fish.

Brought them too the dock, cleaned the fish and my youngest boy and I went back out for a little afternoon bottom fishing. Managed a few lings, cabezon and black rocks.

Couldn't get my wingman up sunday morning so we got a late start chasing the longfins. Didn't leave the dock until 9. Thank you puffin for the reports and hope you remember your lead bucket next trip. Made it to 25 miles and lost a water line hose. Fortunately I carry a spare and got back under way. Got the gear in the water at 35 miles and picked up a nice tuna right away. Carter forgot to tighten the drag and was yelling that this must be a big fish as it was melting the cover off his glove. Got to love the excitement of a 13 y/o tuna fisher. Got some numbers from Kismet and they were only 7 miles away and were in a pretty good bite. Picked up and ran up there and found another 6 fish in a couple of hours. Had to be in early as it was my boys birthday but as we were trolling towards the hole another boat told me they were in the fish and gave us some numbers only a mile away. We zipped over there and picked up a couple more and were on our way in.

Thanks to all the dogs that helped put us on fish this weekend. It is great how helpful everyone is to each other.

Thought it was awesome the concern shown when Bluefin couldn't be raised on the radio. "NO Dog left behind." Makes me feel really good being that far from the hole and knowing that someones got your back.

I don't get to TA meetings but meet more of you every weekend and can't say enough about the help and how friendly a group this is.

I am in E-9 now and will be there about every weekend. Stop in and say hi..
