Default X-Mas Duck Hunting

How has the duck hunting been the last couple of days? Lower Columbia? Sauvie North Unit? Sauvie Public? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

hunted north of st. helens today... a few groups of birds working... weather was very very mild (weatherman was way off on this one)... had high expectations based on the wind/rain predicted and there were lots of birds on the pond when we walked out at light.....

I think had the wind and rain shown up it would have been pretty good.

Hunted SI Eastside Sat and Mon. Pulled a few birds each day and missed a few too. We did better than most. Saw lots of groups flying on Sat headed toward the river from Sturgeon. They were high and not looking. The hunt results are up on the ODFW website already for Mon and Tues.

Duck Hunter's Delight...we'll be out tomorrow (probably afternoon) to give it a whirl. SI Eastside.

Check this out. Look at the isobars (lines), they are stacked up close (lots o' wind) and two fronts.

As they say, "When the wind blows and the water is high, the ducks will die!"

Anybody else up for playing in the wind tomorrow? PM me or post up. Let's see if we can get a group of us out there. If the wind shows, it should be red hot.

Monday at L & C, we harvested 2 scaup. Don't think we saw half a dozen puddle ducks all morning. Light winds and flat water + blue skies = poor hunting

Tilla...no cell yet, but I will give you a ring in the morning. If we head out to the eastside I will probably leave here around 930-1000am for the second shift.

I will be up around 700am if you want to give a ring on the home phone.

How was Cali?

LI,

It was fine, great to be back. I can't stand the thought of all the good stuff going on while I'm away. I will go down in the AM. If the wind gets going that's the ticket!!!!

Okay...so I am the biggest dork on the planet. I knew the hunt schedule was Mon, Wed, Fri this week, and that they cancelled Wed and shot Tues. I didn't think to check to see if they shifted the whole schedule for the month. They did and yesterday was a hunt day.

So today, one of the perfect duck days, was not to be. I should have known better.

Maybe next time.

Just to put my 2 cents in.
Over here my way nothing. Maybe with this high wind it should put the ducks down on the water. But the last week the only thing I have seen was 15 snows
