Default 30.1 lbs Sandy Nookie (PIC's)

Woke up late...
Played golf and finally got to my favorite spot a little after 6PM.

I was drifting sand shrimp with green corkie. My first fish was a 10" trout. Then about 7pm, I felt the tap...tap...and that oh so famous nookie picking up the bait tap.
Wham-O and the battle was on!

I was using a 20 lb UG attached to 20 lb Power Pro mainline with 12 lb UG leader. (Crazy set-up, ain't it?)

After a few minutes of tug of war, the fish caught the current and it decided to head back to the ocean. I ran 150 yards down the river trying to keep it under control. And after about 10 minutes, I bonked him!!!

This is my biggest springer yet! Woohoo...

Tight lines and have a safe July 4th!

Alan

Fished today and got a small (5-7 poundish) summer steely. Same set up as above expect I used 6 lb UG leader with small hook and black corkie / sandshrimp combo. Jumped 4x out of the water! Woohoo~~~
