Re: What do with razor clams? End results
We had diner at McCormick and Schmicks Saturday night with some friends. He had the razor clams and says they are the best around. I didn't try them but it looked like they were sorta pounded out flat, breaded (as suggested above) and then fried. He chomped them down with some tarter sauce and looked quite pleased.

Here is my question: Does anyone have any good recipes for razor clams. I tried them years ago and didn't really care for them. My comment to her was (I wonder if they'll make good sturgeon bait?)

A big thanks to everyone that said the clams are good enough to keep and eat. We follow the directions and fried up a mess and everyone in the family enjoyed them.
This is what I like about this site! Thanks again.

Re: What do with razor clams? End results
They are barely good for bait!! Send them to me and I will see if I can catch a carp or catfish with them. Actually, I like to dip them in eggs, then in cracker crumbs, then fry to a nice golden brown. Make sure you cook extra to bring the next day on another fishing trip. I love those cold razor clams the next day.

Re: What do with razor clams? End results
After you clean them, dip the whole clam into flour, then egg wash, then a mixture of cracker crumbs, panko flakes, and grated asaigo (sp?) cheese. Fry them up in hot peanut oil until golden brown. Season with salt & pepper. Only takes a minute or so per side.
Some really good eats.

I haven't cleaned one in a while, but I know the stomache gets thrown away. Besides that, we cooked it all.
