Default Puget Sound Weekend

I was passing south through Seattle and Tacoma / Olympia this evening on the way back to PDX and was looking out at the sound on a beautiful afternoon.
I've never spent any time with my boat up there. Any suggestions for a weekend get away? I'd like to trailer the boat up and find a place to camp ... or if there's a place to moore the boat and stay a few days.
Any ideas would be appreciated...

Of course the San Juan Islands would be obvious. Lots of places there to moor and stay.

I spend a lot of time in the Hood Canal. Good Camping at Seal Rock or Dosewallips. Great boat ramp just down the road at Triton Cove. Excellent moorage at Pleasant Harbor. Crabbing seasons are irregular, but I guess that goes for the whole sound. Lots of wildlife. Lake Cushman is just aways away, and Port Townsend is a nice drive up North. Good hiking and biking trails, birdwatching (lots of Eagles up by Pulali Pt.)

Great place to SCUBA dive as well.

Slower pace than a lot of Puget Sound, but I like that. I'm sure there are plenty of great places in Puget Sound, Hood Canal has always been easier for me, especially for diving since the tides are negligible with current. Since you turn off at Olympia, traffic is gerally better to and from.

Hope Island offers moorage and camping. It's in the South Sound, just north of Steamboat Island (Olympia) and west of Squaxin Island. Crabbing for Dungies is very poor, but you can get into a few red rocks. The area has lots of channels and islands, so regardless of weather, there's always a leeward side.
