Default Fish Trap Order

I know a lot of ifishers got fish traps in the end of last season, but I just wanted to know if there is any interest in another order before I contact Fishermans Marine Supply (ifish sponsor) for a price quote. Some people I know wasted them all on ling cod and bass!!!!!!????

Also.....someone picked up some fishtraps from me last winter to take to a Portland TA meeting and the ifisher they were intended for never got his order..........and like a dummy I discarded all my notes after everybody picked up their orders (at least I thought). Please PM me.

Yes, I'm interested, need enough for a tuna season, don't know how many that may be, be good to have many dozens.

The special order is usually for boxes of 50 (one color/pattern, 50 in a box).

You missed your calling Mark. A VSI check would have ramped up a production line and you would have been set.

They didn't offer me a VSI. They must want to keep me around to keep an eye on you, Glen, The TExan, and all the other dangerous scally-wags

No, it's just part of a grand conspiracy to use more plastic (which comes from oil). I'm working on a tofu swimbait prototype right now.

BTW James, I should have tried that 6 ounce iron jig down deep. But no, I had to keep throwing that plastic!

Marty said (Some people I know wasted them all on ling cod and bass!!!!!!????)
Are there other fish in the sea besides tuna?? And if so why would anyone waste fish traps on them??
Next I'll be hearing about folks burning lots of gas chasing unknown wherabouts of pelagic fish that run wayyyyyyyy offshore?? Oh ya that was me. At least I have most of the 200 traps I got last year. We serve them along with the smoked chovies at potlucks. They seem to always be there after the party. Mark

marty, if you have extra lead heads, I'd take a bunch. But if not, I'm another one that would like a good source. Maybe I should just buy a mold, does anyone use a mold to make their own jigs and does it work well? thanks

I would also like to buy or get together with you and pour some jig heads Marty.

Hook me up with 100 of what ever you think I need. After all you are the fishtrap man!

Ron, we bought the mold for 2-1/2 thru 4oz. The problem we are having is finding the req. 8/0 Mustad jig hooks.
Englunds says Mustad is moving their manf. facility (to China) and they can't get them for now. Fisherman's doesn't carry them.

Any other ideas anyone?

Marty, I can do this if we can make payment in August.
Vacation is expensive and I am trying to actually get my boat to the water to fish.
I'll need jig heads and jigs. Let me know what you think I need.

1st tell me what a fish trap is.
What style of jighead do you need?
I have the mold for 1, 1.5 & @ 2 oz spire point head jig.
It takes 5/0-7/0 tinned saltwater hooks. I have about 700 hooks. My friend has close to 2000 hooks.
I will look up what the mustad hooks run. I came across some good suppliers that don't want to take you to the bank everytime you order.
I may be able to part with a few jigs or hooks.
PM if you want some links to good-n-cheaper tackle
Mike

Mustad # 34184
No problem. O'Shaugnessy bend, forged, extra long shank, special tinned. Size 8/0 $19.88 / 100, $178.90 / 1000 from 1 supplier.
Mustad 34184D (duratin) $18.05/ 100 somewhere else.
Now that I'm getting more interested in salty fishing, those circle hooks and the live bait and double hooks look more interesting all the time.

Thanks. I have always called those "Chovie Minnows"
I know the a guy who has a plastic's distribution business and he carries those.
If interested I could give him a call and see what he has and the price.
