Default Water Depth???

I'm looking to anchor up for salmon in the St Helens area this week and have no idea what water depth to look for. At this time of year should I be looking for springer depths (12-25') or fall depths (40'-60'). I'm not asking for any specifics locations, just what depth has been most productive recently.

Thanks,

John

Boats we saw catch fish last week in the Sandy area were in 12 feet, saw no-one with any fish deeper than that, but bottom contour also plays an important part, don't forget. A sharp break going from 20-30 feet maybe better than a 12 foot sloping flat.
