Back if the '30s my grandfather would let my father out of the Model A around Post with this admonition, "I'm going on upriver a couple of miles and set up camp. See if you can have this gunny sack filled with ducks by the time you get there."
Thirty years ago I would float the Crooked below Prineville in a canoe, jump shooting ducks, geese, pheasant and quail. There were some chukar released near O'Neil in the '60s but they never took.
I just moved back into Cen. Ore. I imagine that I'll take another crack at them.
