Default Coastal Ducks

Finally made it out for my first duck hunt of the year. Hunted estuary water near lincoln City area and did not see many birds, though the weather was a bit wild  Can any one share their findings for coastal ducks thus far. I would like to try Tillamook before the end of the month but might reconsider if the hunting is spotty there as well.

Default Re: Coastal Ducks

Usually I do very well on the bays, but I've had really mixed results this season. I hunted L.C. area last Saturday, and other than the pintails that I kept passing up, there really weren't a lot of birds out there. I ended up with two (bufflehead and a shoveler), and a couple of missed shots on mallards. Never even saw a wigeon within 500 yards.

Maybe next time.
