fellas I have a 15hp evinrude serial #318928-2 how can I confirm what year it is? The cowling has 1981 stamped in it but id like to know for sure. Tks

the only other numbers i could find were 321554 does that make sense?

the numbers you are getting are casting numbers, look for a decal on the port clamp bracket, should show a model and serial number unless someone has removed it. Another place is a core plug about the size of your thumb located on the cylinder block withe the numbers stamped in it.
