Re: Washougal?? Anyone??
That doesn't sound like a bad idea. I'll warn you though, I haven't caught a lot of fish and don't want that to rub off on you. So if you are still up for it after hearing that, let's make plans.

Re: Washougal?? Anyone??
Killed about 2 hours yesterday drifting a corky and yarn. Fished behind the copshop, riverbend and the sandy swimming hole and came up empty. Had one 'fishy' take, but it must have been my imagination.
The water is high and but clear.

Re: Washougal?? Anyone??
Went for a few hours last Friday morning. My first trip of the year. Water was high, very clear, and VERY cold (found I have a leak in my waders!) Not ideal flyfishing water so I threw a bobber and jig (cerise marabou with peach chenille.) Managed to land a bright nate of about 8lbs. I don't fish the Washougal nearly as much I used to but that was the first nate I've gotten there in several years. Even in that numbing cold water it still jumped 3 times!
Gotta luv those wild fish!

Re: Washougal?? Anyone??
I went this afternoon and fished three in-town holes. Caught none, felt none, saw none. Nice weather though.
The NFL report is the same. Dead.
I sure hope Springers make up for this lull.

ReelBigFish~
We should hook up and fish that puppy...then we can have a report for everyone on Monday morning. I know that there are plenty of steelies caught on the Washougal through Febuary. I like to fish around the bowling alley...if you would like to hook up let me know. I've had good luck fishing there drifting opalescent pink corkies with no yarn....just dip the corkies in egg goo. I have a friend who does pretty well on eggs too... I will be showing up around 6:30 and fishing to 9:30....got the honey do list to work on but that's after fishing!!

Re: Washougal?? Anyone??
Thanks for all the updates. Maybe things will be different for me. Fish bite wet hooks!! Considering the Washougal is way closer than the NF...I'm going to go for it Saturday morning.
ReelBigFish~
No worries mate! The only way that changes is if you keep fishing. You never know what each cast holds for you...that's why I love fishing so much!
Shoot me an e-mail and we will set up a time to meet. Most likely we could meet up at the Chevron there in Washougal.
