Default Where to get Seagull decoys?

Anyone know where I can get one? DO they make them commercially or just by private carvers?

Thanks

        You wanna decoy? Why- not enough real ones poopin' on your boat? I don't get it! First BOE wants to be a fish now somebody wants to hunt seagulls (illegal by the way). Lets not forget the Elk commiting sewercide on an airplane this am. Has the whole world gone mad?

:depressed: Illegal? Darn, I thought I was on to something.

No I've got other plans, and they don't involve eating seagulls.

Anyone who went to the seminar this weekend knows why...

I can't speak for BOE's behavior though...

Security decoys ---- everythings all right 'duckies' come on in....... I got my seagull, heron (put on a stick) and coot decoys years ago from either Cabelas or Herters............. Didn't help me a hell of a lot but there were probably other reasons....

I'm gonna stick my neck out and admit that I'm the proud  owner of no less than 3 seagull decoys! I've had 'em for about 15 years and they're made by Carry-Lite. But I don't remember if I got them mail-order or locally. They're typical Carry-Lite quality; the paint's bad, they're heavy, and they roll around on the water like some kind of psychotic bathtub toy. But they compliment my coot decoys nicely. And yeah, I've heard a lot of snide remarks about my "dumpster chickens" over the years.

Outlaw Silhouettes makes one that looks pretty good. Their catalog has it mixed in with the rabbits, pronghorns, doves, etc. I didn't see it on their website, but you might give them a call. Knowing Outlaw, it's light, natural looking, and well made.

Outlaw.com

Man, I wish I cudda attended that seminar. I may have to book a trip with Dave just to learn.

Why don't you just paint a magnum duck decoy off white?

B nice rub, but I think BOE is getting free donuts again. Usually is the reason why he doesn't respond quick. Even when he gets his fill it takes hours to get the sticky filling off his nubs and climb back up his stool to his keyboard.

anyway the best way to attract seagulls is to use roy's boat....whew!

Gus - I still chuckle everytime I see that Avitar. You gotta get some kind of prize for that thing. It's a definite best in class. Not sure what class, but it's good!

I am working on animating it but I can't decide if the sled explodes into a ball of flame or if just dissolves into a warm heart felt season's greetings.....probably going to be a fireball

it would be drift boat but I haven't come up with a good drawing yet. Oh and thought of altering your skunk have come to mind as well but I will save that one for when its slow again, for BOE that springer season, but for the rest of us Late June

must have gotten and extra dozen or so today

Well thanks for the help guys. I called Carry-Lite and they don't appear to make them anymore.

I might call Outlaw, but I'm looking for something 3 dimensional first.

Gussy boy - Thats a lot of smack talk from a guy whos wife wont allow him to own a jet sled.  She wont allows fungus to operate anything with a motor and his christmas sled is the only sled she allows him to have. Your purchase of a driftboat and a set of oars was pushing the envelope.

Dont you have some silicon wafers that need flattened or something?

Bounty,

Try throwing out a few french fries while in your duck blind. That should get you all the seagulls around that you need.
