The hard way to bag an elk.
Just saw this one on the news...

Man -- that's gotta hurt.
Didn't say if it was a a cow/bull -- and I wonder if they had a proper tag...

Doesn't take much to damage the delicate structure of an aircraft traveling at 100 knots!

Re: The hard way to bag an elk.
I'm glad everyone was okay, but I thought it was illegal to fly and hunt on the same day.

Zoinks! That's gonna leave a multimillion dollar mark! Glad I wasn't onboard. Had an aborted takeoff in a C-5 Galaxy once. Scared the tar out of me. Hitting an elk must have been terrifying.

Re: The hard way to bag an elk.
Special Alert..................
There have been reports that Elksomma Been Loggin has recently been spotted in the area. A Learjet crash in Astoria is tied to terrorist activities. It seems a local terrorist cell, known as elk-hideda, was operating in the area and somehow had alluded the airport *****. The elk was found with significant facial hair, reminiscent of the Taliban. No further details are known. The elk is not cooperating with local authorities, despite intensive interrogation at the local Busters BBQ.

Re: The hard way to bag an elk.
Which do you consider to have greater knock down power? The elk or the plane?
Hunting with a plane get expensive quick. Not a lot of handloading for this cal.
