Here's the story in the local Brookings paper. Looks like one boat got 50 fish. According to a post by Hiouchi Mike on the BATC website, one of the other boats got 38 fish. This is definitely the most wide-open sport bite north of San Diego this year.

BTW I believe the article is mistaken where it says:
"These fish may only be taken outside 3 miles from shore. Only offshore pelagic species may be in possession, and other species must be immediately released. No rod or line restrictions apply."
I think someone mis-interpreted the multiple rod / handline rules.
