Default Possible cure for jetski harassment while fishing

We had a jetski come flying by us rudely (huge lake- no need to buzz us)and I stood up and yelled "thanks a lot!"

The next time he came around, I stood up with my camera to snap his reg. #'s- he instantly yelled and made some sort of gesture- and then turned abruptly away and never came near us again! Wow- didn't know it could be so easy.

I used to have very low tolerance for jetskiers too ... But, ever since the ol' motor conked out and I got a tow back to shore by one, I've tried to be a little more understanding. Of course, come to think of it, the only reason he was close enough to hear our call for help was because he was going to buzz us. I'm just suprised you found one with hull numbers you could find and/or read.

One of the lakes I fish has lots of cabins with many wake maggots and skiers mid day. The Klamath County Sheriff keeps the jet skiers in line (sometimes they are too hard nosed with them) but ignore the young mothers taking their kids out skiing. These "ladies" like to come close to fishermen to show off their kids abilities, AT JUST BELOW OR SLIGHTLY ABOVE PLANING SPEED!! This causes a big wake and upsets the fishermen. Now that I have a bigger boat I plan on "cruising" along their docks at max wake and wave back to them

Were they good looking Lee? Or just your typical Klamath Falls grade?

Last trip to New Zealand there was an artical in the Christ Church Press about an incident where a jet skier had buzzed a boat and the operator fell overboard and drowned.
(no life jacket and wearing hip boots)
The jet ski operator was beening charged with Negligent Murder, which I believe is the equivilent of a second degree murder charge here.
