BIG BUCK TO NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went out after eating some bird. Went up to a spot of mine to look for my big buck. two does. Walked up there. The does were still there but walked up over the hill. I walked up to were they were and sat next to a tree. Deer all around me. I could hear them walking around. 3 does came in on my right and then 3 more came in on my left. then I heard something that sounded big. Then I heard a buck grunt. There he is. He came running in with his head down. All I seen was rack. Pulled my gun up and then he seen me and stopped and turned around. I shot. Don't know if I hit him or not. It was starting to get dark. Ran back to the house like a mile away. Took me like a min to get back. Told everyone and went back up there with a light. Looked around were he was. The light went dead. Now I have my buddy coming over and we are going to look for him.
I will come back with the rest of the story.
Hope that I get him.
Big buck guys, let me tell you big buck.
God I hope I find him.

Can't find him. Be up looking tomorrow. I starting to think that I missed him. Buck fever and all.

Did you check for blood before heading home?
Did you hear a bullet report? Did his track run uphill or downhill? Wounded deer usually head downhill. Good luck finding him. Hope he is not mortally wounded and dies out there somewhere. What are you shooting? Shot placement is everything. We killed 2 good size mulies (does) this year with a 222 centerfire. Hit both in the neck and they dropped right in their tracks.

I was shooting a 12 GA with a 22 inch fully rifled barrel shooting 2 3/4 inch sabot slugs.
The deer ran up hill.
After I shot, I looked for blood. Ran home, came back with some lights and a buddy, looked for blood and found nothing. Went home and came up with another buddy and we looked all over till the lights went dead and still found no blood. Next morning found nothing.
Could not even find any hair.
I know if I would have hit it with one of them sabots there would be blood.

He is still up there. Last night all the does came out but he would not. Could hear him up racking on trees and walking around.

Hey Kingfisher ...what's the 85 stand for? Sounds like you may have missed him, huh? I'm glad that you looked for blood. Could you track him, or was the underbrush too thick? If you think that you heard him, go check for his tracks. I think that if he went uphill he probably did not have a mortal wound. Good luck.....it would be nice if you could see him again......he will really be a "wallhanger" next season! :grin: Fishrite

I seen him a few days ago coming home from hunting. WAY to dark but I could see him with the moon light.
I still have to the end of the year to drop him. If not, oh ya, next year he will be MUCH bigger.
The area that I'm seeing him is it goes like this. Old growth to brush to an old second growth to a small field with 4 apple trees. I have been seeing him under the apple trees along the second growth timber. If there was blood I would have been on him like flys on S&&(
The 85 stands for the year I was born.
