CAPE FALCON TO HUMBUG MOUNTAIN:
Chinook General Season (open for all species except coho):
Open Period: March 15 through June 17, and from the end of the selective coho fishery through October 31 (Note: Retention of chinook salmon remains open during the selective coho salmon season)
Open Area: Cape Falcon to Humbug Mt.
Bag Limit: 2 salmon per day, except closed to retention of coho salmon.
Length Limits: Chinook minimum length = 20 inches
Steelhead minimum length = 20 inches
Special Regulations: No more than 2 single point, single shank barbless hooks allowed. In the Tillamook Triangular Control Zone between March 15 and July 31 all retained chinook must have a healed adipose fin clip. During days open for the all depth halibut fishery, only salmon trolling is allowed within the Stonewall Bank Groundfish Conservation Area.
Notes: In 2006, the chinook general season will open March 15 for all species except coho. This opening could be modified following PFMC review at its November 2005 meeting.
Selective Coho Salmon Season
(open for all species, all retained coho must have a healed adipose fin clip)
Open Period: June 18 through earlier of July 31 or coho quota of 40,000 (Note that area from Humbug Mt. to the Oregon/California Border is closed to all salmon fishing beginning July 5)
Open Area: Cape Falcon to the Oregon/California Border
Bag Limit: 2 salmon per day, all retained coho must have a healed adipose fin clip.
Length Limit: Coho minimum length = 16 inches
Special Regulations: No more than 2 single point, single shank barbless hooks allowed. In the Tillamook Triangular Control Zone between March 15 and July 31 all retained chinook must have a healed fin clip.
