Alsea (or Stott Mtn) unit. Go through Falls City (SW of Dallas) . It's the only area I've hunted during the late archery season. Although I haven't got one in there I've seen several the last couple of years.

Good luck

I have hunted around Oakridge for blacktails in the late season and if you get snow there-the elk are flat thick! Gotta be snow though as the get a lttle harder to find when there isnt any. I have gotten into them in the Indigo Unit just across the highway as well.

Myles,

I too am going to be hunting the mt.Scott area next week and could use some help. I bought a Merdian GPS this week to use but I sure could use some coordinates that might find some elk.

Default unfilled elk tag (archery)

Any ideas/suggestions as to where to go to get onto some elk during the cow archery season? I archery hunt but was unsuccessful in eastern oregon this year. Sounds like from the other posts that I wasnt the only one to come home empty handed and see very few elk this year.

Look in the Mckenzie unit near wilderness boundaries when the snow starts to fall. It will push the elk down out of the high country, but until some weather comes around it'll be tough hunting.
