Default ? regarding new law..help!

I will be leaving friday morning for a whitetail archery hunt north of spokane. Although I live in Vancouver, I will be using I-84 to get there. My question is will I be breaking the new regulation about bringing cervids into Oregon if, on my way home I cross the border assuming I harvest an animal. I'd hate to lose an animal over not knowing the rules...I guess sr-14 is always an option. What do you all think?

It is illegal to bring live deer/elk into Oregon from anywhere; and also dead deer/elk or parts from certain CWD infection areas from a list of about 10 states............I don't think Washington has CWD yet.

Check with ODFW in Portland at 503/872-5272

My understanding is that the restrictions apply only to states where CWD has been reported...those do not (yet) include Washington or Idaho, but do include Montana, Wyoming and Colorado...Even from those states, however, parts (i.e., meat, cleaned skulls, capes, etc.) may be imported back...the ODFW website has information and most butchers and taxidermists are pretty up to speed.
