I'm heading out next week for some late archery elk season action. I know some of private timber companys open their gates for rifle elk season. Does anyone know if any of them keep them open a little later? Especially the area southeast of Lincoln city?

Hunted S Mtn. all this second rifle season. All the signs on the Miami Corp land say they're open until Nov. 27th, don't know about anyone else.

I feel for you stick-flingers You guys really get shafted (no pun intended) when it comes to the access issue!!!

Hunted S mountain second season as well. Was that great weather Saturday morning or what. What a great area but man is some of that steeeeeep!!!! BUT... one must go where the elk go.

There is a lot of great hunting up there that is not behind locked gates. You just have to access it differently when Miami corp. locks the gates. If you know the area then you know what I'm talking about. If not, shoot me an email and I'll be glad to share some info.

It would be nice if they kept the gates open a couple more weeks. I guess we get a long enough season we shouldn't snivel to much :grin: .
