Student/parent in need of job fast!!**UPDATE**
Well Its not the first time Ive asked Ifish for help and probly wont be the last, but hten again I give as much help as I can so...what comes around goes around right?
school is out and I find out that we have to move. we are scrammbling to find a place to live and have several options but without a regular job income things get very difficult. We only have until the first of August to find a new place and move in so time is short.
I am a jack of all trades and master of few. I have computer skills, retail, personal security, some constrution skills, and Im a good cook. My major is in biology, medical technology to be specific.
If anyone knows of a job around corvallis/albany that might work Please let me know. I dont have a strong car so commuting isnt an option right now.
Thank you
Paul

Paul, you might check with the following companies:
Pacific Cast in Albany
Lee Publishing
Oregon Enployment Office
If I can think of more I will post them.
FT or PT?

Re: Student/parent in need of job fast!!
I will look into those, thank you. well, the more I get paid the less I have to work So part time?. LOL seriously I will take what I can get I know the market is rough right now. I would like to have time to fish but my first priority is getting enough money for the rent and deposits put together. so the more hours (time=money) the better.

Re: Student/parent in need of job fast!!
If you have Secity experience you should be able to get on with a contract company with little experience. They always need warm bodies.
Look under www.pcc.edu They post jobs every Friday. The current opening are up now.

Re: Student/parent in need of job fast!!
When I was going to school I needed to stay down in Corvallis one summer. So at the drop of a hat I had to start looking for work. I wound up working on CE Jones farm across from the airport. Farm labor doesnt pay well but what does. And if you haven't bucked hay, or moved irrigation pipe, you'll learn. You will learn what being tired really is and you might look pretty buff by the end of the summer.

Check with any logging co in the Philomath area? they often hire students for the summer to set chokers and what not. often they will pick you up right at your house! just an idea?

Re: Student/parent in need of job fast!!
Paul, Definetly get in touch with the nearest career center. I am confident that your skills in construction can get you to work very quickly. Your lack of transportation will be an obstacle. But I am confident that you can find something suitable close to home.

Re: Student/parent in need of job fast!!
Thank you all. I got in touch with the local employment office and updated my file. Can you belive they havent heard from me in over 6 years?? yep thats right, well they had a few things for me to check out right away that may even play out through the year so I could work and go to school!
Thanks again for all the great suggestions, if someone hears of something let me know. just as an FYI while I have bucked hay before my older body cant handle it anymore.

I also need a deckhand...but I dont pay well either...and technically, I dont have a boat either. Basically I need someone to refinish my deck by hand for me.

Re: Student/parent in need of job fast!!**UPDATE**
Keta- now that I got a job I think I can afford to be your deck hand. count me in!!
CT- I could refinish your deck and even do it by hand but itll have to be when Im not fishing, and there are plenty of ways I get paid, not always with cash.
