Default Good times at Sauvies

Hunted the West side yesterday with fellow Ifisher, Leatherneck. We hunted Seal lake #2, and shared the lake with some very considerate hunters. We had numerous large group of Widgeon working the lake and was amazed that everyone on the lake was patient to let the birds land without sky busting.

We only bagged a pair of Widgeon, but not with out our fair chance to bag a few more, I will take the blame for just out right missing some easy shots. But not without blaming it on getting used to my new Browning Gold Hunter.

It seems like more and more birds are moving into the area, but I just can not coordinate some nasty weather with my hunting days!

When the blue sky broke through at around 10:30 we didn't see one duck until 12:15 when we started picking up the dekes (how do those ducks know?!)

Oh well it was a good time with good company. Thanks for going John!

Good luck,
Andy

Was pretty slow this AM at the Island. The younger Lab was irritated by the presence of Cheetos in the blind. The older Lab on the other hand felt that there will always be ducks, but you never know where your next Cheeto will come from. Yep, it was that kinda day.

We had a good shoot on sunday - I shot my limit all but one were mallards.... my partner got a couple - but had the opportunity for his limit too..... only one group of widgeon came through.. sounds like some more have moved down since then.

I'll be out in the morning... good luck to all.
