Default Welding zincs

I did a quick scan and it would seem that the overwhelming consensus is that zincs need to be welded on to be most effective. So, where are some good places to get it done? I'm in Tigard but would be willing to travel a bit if required. Also, my boat is a Smokercraft and I'm concerned that there isn't enough thickness to the hull to withstand welding.

Default Re: Welding zincs

I'm sure that welding zincs is a good thing, but I have mine attached with stainless steel screws, cleaned both surfaces before attaching and they work great. I have my aluminium boat moored in salt water and the zincs are nicely pitted with no pits on the boat. Good electrical contact is all you need and that can be easily checked with a meter.
