Neat gadgets for fly fishing you have found

I got to wondering what cool things have been discovered by this group that would make fly fishing a bit more enjoyable or handy or whatever...

Here is my contribution:

A stainless steel "soap bar" that is the size of a large dog tag that fits nicely in my vest (It has a hole in it so you can use a keeper, very handy). I am never worried about fish odor just my own scent sending the fish away in a hurry.

Fresh Fingers Odor Bar and it cost less than $3.00 US from a cooking section in a department store. Here is the company that supplies them: If memory serves, I actually bought mine at GI Joes.

Here's one of the most useful gadgets I have - I actually have two of them for four different sizes of shot. Worn on the outside of my vest, one push of the button and a single shot drops out.

Quick Tye is the most ingenious and simple to use hook eye threader there is. It makes it easy for everyone, even the visually impaired, to thread the eye of a hook. First you lock the eye of the hook into a vice at the tip of the cone, then by guiding the leader or tippet into the cone you thread the eye.

Stew - I got one of those for my dad a few years back. He loves that thing. It was the only way I could get him to use a fly smaller than #12. The other thing I got him was this:



He really likes the threaders for the smaller flies.
