Default South Santiam Run

Just to let everybody know, we (the folks from RiverJet Magazine Forum Board) will be running the South Santiam next Saturday the 11th(about 10-15 jet boats).
We will be running from the rest area off I-5 up thru, and to Lebanon (Formorally stated as Sweet Home), with a Barbeque at the completion of the event.
We will be polite and considerate, but we will also be on the river....learning.
Thanks for your understanding ,
Troy

Sounds like fun and thanks for the heads up, but be careful as you get to the east end of Lebanon. (There is a dam there).

If you are in a jet boat you will not be making it to sweet home unless you take hwy 20 I believe you will be learning the river with that said good luck and be careful

Tim
PS at I5 that is not the south but the main stem of the santiam

Its not as large as the dam.
But, what about the waterfall at waterloo park.
I've heard its been done by a local, but I would pay a few dollars to see a boat go up that.

I'm pretty sure jet pumps aren't allowed above lebanon dam. Sounds like it's gonna be a short run

Troy, A couple of things. Dont know how many of you guys have launched at the Santiam Rest Stop. There are two ways to launch. The best is the improved ramp. But if the water is below 4' at Jefferson, the ramp has filled in and is not useable. Otherwise, off the bank under the I5 bridge. Can be a little tricky with fast current. Watch backing off, bridge footing is right there. I might just tag along if you guys dont mind.

Yes, you are right we will be running to the dam just above Lebanon. Being from the Big City, all those small towns just kinda blurr together....My Bad!
On a side-note, there will be a few folks yondering into the North Santiam too.

I called my local State Game Trooper last week and he told me that it is illegal to run a jet above Lebanon dam. No horse power restrictions, just a jet restriction. Grant

We will not run above Lebanon Dam. May call it quits 1-2 miles above Gills landing.
