Default question for "pro" gillnetters

are the gillnets worth the loss of wild steelhead runs in the columbia river ?, if the impact for gillnetters is raised to 7 percent on them its going to happen, does that bother you ?

I really do not think you are going to find any PRO GILNETTERS on this site. If you do I would like to hear the answer to this question too.

The thing about the 7% is bad enough but I'm betting it could be much higher than that! The states just don't have the resources to enforce proper handling of wild steelhead bycatch.
I don't understand how the states can turn such a blind eye to this.

It,s easy to understand how the state turns a blind eye when its obvious there sleeping with the enemy. They protect their bedmates.
