I have 'attempted' to catch surf perch with a fly rod. I have caught one and was embarrassed by my excitement and the resulting small size of my quarry. I have 'observed' others catching them at Smelt Sands State Recreation Area with clam necks and other 'bait'. I have also eaten red-tailed surf perch and they were very good. What I would like to know is how you surf perch fisherpeople rig up your bait etc. Any suggestions?
