Anybody getting jiggy with it Yaquina tonight?
I'll be down late this afternoon/early evening, but the boats now in Depoe. Wouldn't mind getting some fresh herring for tomorrow if anyone is getting "jiggy" this evening.
Otherwise I'll be stuck with frozen herring.

I don't know anyplace to jig from shore. Is there someplace?

Ya Nalu a couple different places you can try actually. I have caught them off the end of the finger at the entrance to the marina on the fuel station side. Off the end of the dock by the rogue brewery. Of course the little buggers have to be in the marina. I have also jigged them off dock at the Port of Newport over by the green gas tank. Those are the places I have personally jigged them. Other than that it was outta my boat. Hope this helps.

I've heard about jigging for herring, but never tried it. What do you use to catch them?
