Fill us in a little more. Can you get around okay or is your whole left side paralyzed? Do you have a disabled hunter license? How do you work the bolt, etc on your '06?

I'm no help on the 45 - I can't hardly operate one with two good hands, much less one.

The .45,,, Place it between your legs, or under your arm, or between your shoulder and a hard surface (tree, car etc) use your working arm to rack the slide, safety it then holster it. You should be good to go.

You might want to also look into a revolver for future use.

Sorry about your predicament, but I think it is great that your going out and not letting it stop you!

Wouldn't be too hard to make a device you could carry on your belt that you could stick the slide into and be able to chamber it one handed. I have the design in my head, if you're interested email me.

Here's an idea that may lead to more ideas....Through my firearms training (Won't say where I got it), I was taught (make sure safety is engaged) to catch the front sight and top of slide on heel of boot. Then push the handle and lower portion down (toward toes) and that should create sufficient force to charge the weapon
