Default ballistics help...?

Does anyone have a program or website they can run these numbers against?

I am trying to get velocity(fps) and downrange energy (foot pounds) for my muzzleloader.

I am shooting 110 grains of black powder with a 360 grain projectile with a ballistic coefficient of roughly .170.

Can anyone help?

Get about 100 yards away and fling the slug out.Muzzleloaders are very similar to the magnum handgun rounds.Since open sights(I assume open sights)are usually crude on most blackpowder guns(not all but most)100 yards is plenty far.If you need to shoot 200 yards, get closer.
I spent a very dark hour on Saturday morning(dark as in pit of my gut dark not daylight)after being tricked by my scope with a doe and hitting low.Finished the job,but not the way it should go.This with a high velocity centerfire rifle that shoots tiny tiny groups.Very high ballistic coefficients on those bullets too.I used to shoot in competition so yes I have an idea how to manage a rifle. While I no longer compete I still have a firm grasp on the basics.Yet as the range got long(I hit in the front leg below the knee above the hoof)a cripple was the result. If you test the outer limits of the muzzleloader, you will most likely have the same result.Maybe not every time but it WILL happen. Please consider the limitations of the arm before you shoot.Since muzzleloader seasons are many times held during the rut or long in duration, please consider my experience before you pull the trigger.
Have a fun hunt.

Flatfish, thanks for the feedback. I am well aware of the limitations of a muzzleloader and practice very conservative shooting when in the field. (longest shot I have taken was 75 yards). I shoot a .54 caliber sidelock with open sights for my Oregon hunts.

The problem is two fold. 1. The .54 caliber with 1:48 twist is a real hog ballistically with anything but round ball. I am trying to decide if I should shoot round ball or try yet another conical. (I have tried several all with less than solid performance out to 100 yards.) With round ball I can hit a 6" target consistently at 100 yards. With the conicals (after adusting the sites) I have to work to get a group inside 12".

My concern is trying to keep the downrange energy as high as possible at 100 yards and still have good (6") accuracy.

Looking ahead, my next ML will be a 1:36" twist gun in .50 caliber as it has significantly better ballistics capabilities.

Try Remington . Click on ammunition, then ballistics, then black powder. They also have a downloadable ballistics program that is fairly easy to use. Good luck

Lured in,
I can give you answers but i need a velocity first. It should be within 100-150 fps.If it is that close it will give you a fair idea.

Duckninja?? I love it! We had a lab named Moose when I was kid. Turkey used to catch rooster pheasants. We hunted Gray Lodge every year and we hunted the tules a lot. That dog would catch at least five or six birds every year. What do you say? Bad dog? I don't think soo. He was just doing what he thought was his job. Turkey.....damn I miss that dog!! He used to growl at us if we missed!! One other thing, he never and I mean never brought us a hen, they must smell different.
