Default Stud-Proofed the Crackercraft

When using the drifter to hole-hop in order to bank fish or wade, I find that studded soles are the safest and provide more stability on snotty rocks. I have been pondering the dilema of wearing studded soles in the drift boat and the potential damage they could cause to the floor. I took a trip to Home Depot where I purchased a remnant of indoor/outdoor carpeting and laid it in the floor of the boat. For about $20 and half an hour of labor, I think it turned out pretty good. Really easy to remove, clean and replace and saves the floor from the studs.

Just thought I'd share.

I don't know if is to heavy for a drift boat, but fish tales got some sort of pad made of rubber, it is about 1 inch thick and I belive he said it was for putting on the floor of horse trailers, He put it in the bow of his Boulton to protect the deck from anchor damage.Works good.
