Default Cabo Questions

So my loving wife got us a trip to Cabo for my birthday. the intentions of the trip are to catch some large, good eating, fast fish. We don't have anyone lined up for the charter for this weekend thought, so if anyone has any suggestions that aren't too expensive, please help. We will be leaving tomorrow early and hope to fish on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. I hope this trip wrecks her for salt water fishing so we can finally get an offshore boat soon. One last thing, does anyone know of a chandlery of sporting goods store in Cabo to get CO2 cartridges for our lifejackets. I don't think that we can take CO2 cartridges onto the airplane.

Dude your talking about mexico, safety takes a back seat there. Just kidding. I think it's cheaper to rent a skiff although you won't be fishing for sailfish I don't think. Altough a skiff won't convince the wife that you need an offshore boat.

We were in Cabo two weeks ago and the striped marlin bite was going strong. We fished two days on the Solmar IV and hooked four landed three in the 140-170 class.$625/day but very reasonable when you start shopping around. Mario, the capt. has been fishing that water with the Solmar fleet for 29 years and is a great guy. We also spent one day panga fishing on the pacific side where we got into some great yellowtail action. I think the yellow tail were just arriving. $125/day on the panga's. Both those prices were for the whole boat. Hope this helps

Thanks for the input, we will likely be fishing the pangas or at least something on the lower end, 6 bills for a day of fishing isn't quite what I was figuring on. A few years back I fished out of a dugout canoe in Costa Rica all day for like $20, so it looks like this adventure is going to be a bit more expensive. Oh well at least money is a renewable resource.
