A slight problem arose with annual Idaho elk trip. My hunting partner had to cancel last minute. He is training as a firefighter and had some mandatory training rescheduled right on top of our planned hunt. Don't think that I'll make the trip from the St Helens, Or area to hunt alone. It wouldn't be safe or much fun.
Anyway, on to plan "B"
I'm caught flat footed to hunt elk with an over the counter tag in OR this year.
I usually try to go to E. OR or Saddle Mtn on the controlled hunts. So I'm looking for a place to start. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My email is

I got the time off. It would be wrong to cancel my elk hunting this fall and go back to work, right?
Perhaps you have a group camp I would fit in with? I'm 38 in good shape, can hike and pack quarters at elevation. I know how to take an elk apart. I don't drink but I'm not preachy about it. Looking for some company to hunt, not party all night. I can get along with most folks. My time off is somewhat flexible. Perhaps you would be interested in a trip trade for Sturg, Salmon or Steelhead? I have a good boat and do pretty well getting my buddies into chromers and sturgeon.
Thanks,
Jay
