Nice Smallmouth on the columbia

For me in Kalama high school today was a half day so I decided that I would go fishing after we got out. I headed out on the Colubia in search of shad (off the bank) with little luck I got 1 shad as well as a small smallmouth (5 inches) in about 1 hour of hard fishing. So then I decided I would try for some Bass. So I go too my favourite Bass area. Then on my first cast boom :shocked:.
I got hit hard! In a great battle with the fish jumping probobly 10 times all the way out of the water I manage to get this fish in. I can see this is one big and fat fish so I take a tape measure i have and put it too him. I got a quick measure of 16 1/2 inches :grin:! After that I released the fish and continued to fish. Next cast I lost my lure and decided to end on a good note of the fish.
Anyone have any idea how many pounds a fish of this size is :whazzup:? It was rather thick of a fish.

a fish that's 20-21 inches is in the 4lb range my guess on a 16 inch fish would be a good 2-2.5 pounds maybe a little heavier this time of year.. That's a nice size fish :smile:
