Default 1987 mercury 6cyl. 115 hp motor seized!!!

What do I do? It was running but not well and it just refused to turn over again. With the sparkplugs out I can get it to turn a little but its very tight. I have pulled the starter and its still the same. It is not in gear and I can spin the prop freely. Any of you ever come accross this problem? Can it be fixed? Any help is appreciated. Thanx.

unless you can see a damaged piston remove the lower unit to isolate where the problem is. could be the drive shaft is stuck.

Anything can be fixed, but at what cost?

I'd guess scoring of the cylinder walls is causing this. What was the compression of the cylinders? Probably wasn't good before and that would explain why it wasn't running well. Only way to check is to remove the head. Probably time for a rebuild. If your engine is fried and you are going to buy new instead of rebuilding it, I have a friend that may be interested in working on it.

The scoring of the cylinder walls was caused by another problem Mostly overheating and fuel lean out that what kills most 2 strokes How do you guys get more than a year out of a 2stroke rebuild? I can't and my fishen buddies can't I dont know what is is
