Bulls everywhere
Remember watching a hunting show or maybe an outdoor show on elk. You see the elk coming down a trail and its bull after bull after bull. Well that happened to me yesterday. I was scouting our hunting spot for the upcoming season. It was pouring down rain, windy and lots of fog. I had hiked about two miles down into a canyon that we hunt and set myself up behind a fallen log. I was in full camo gear as the area does not have a lot of cover. About 20 min later i saw a cow come around a little knob, folowed by another cow and a yearling and then another cow. Behind them came 5 spike bulls in row nose to tail. Four had spikes in the 30 in class and one was a little smaller with about 24 inch spikes. These were not young bulls as they were very large animals. I was close enough to hit them with a rock. They fed for a 1/2 hour or so and then just meandered on up the canyon. They never knew i was there. Guess you know where i will be opening morning. I have been seeing bulls in this area for the last month but nothing like this. Just thought i would share this neat and exciting event with you. Sorry, wont tell where i was at. I will however share another spot with you that i have scouted and have seen several bulls in the area. I wont be real specific but locate a place called Steampot which is in the area a little north of Murphy' s camp in the Trask. They are there if you look for them. Good luck.
