Default Coastal sturgeon questions

Not one to give up easy, I thought I'd ask you folks how you rig up your terminal tackle for whatever appropriate bait you're using. I just figured that a sliding sinker with a single bait loop hook for mud shrimp on a ~4 ft. leader would work. Also, what tides do you think are most appropriate to fish? I don't see a pattern here on the Yaquina. Also, do folks fish other estuaries like the Siuslaw or the Alsea? I know the Umpqua has a fishery. Just curious.
