Yes you can still pump sandshrimp, the razor clam closure has nothing to do with that.

Clamming: Razor clamming and mussel harvesting is now closed along the entire Oregon coast due to alerted levels of Domoic Acid. Bait harvesting is not allowed in areas that are closed to the harvest of razor clams. The most current closure information is available on the shellfish hotline at (800) 448-2474 . The following beaches are CLOSED for razor clamming and mussel harvesting as of May 13, 2005 :

All shellfish harvesting is closed on all beaches, jetties, and spits, coastwide

Why did you delete your post?? You read the reg’s correct, you cannot pump shrimp in those areas but most all the shrimping is done well inside the bays.

Yes sorry Cliff I should have been more specific, most shrimping is done in the bay and that is why I made the statement I did. Did not mean to cause confusion.
