Default "The Frishery" Question

The folks up in the gorge, do they have a web site?? I'm planning my first trip up there Sat. Was wondering if they had current weather updates and what facilities and or bait they have up there.

If this is also your first time in the Gorge, please be careful. I hear it's way rippin' up there. If you already fish the gorge, then great. If you have not, a first trip can surprise you and hurt you in the wrong conditions.

It can also get pretty rough in any West wind below the Fishery to Skamania Island.

Small store, fairly good parking, overfill is back across the RR tracks on the road. Overpriced bait and charge too much to launch, but it's a good launch to be able to get back to if the weather goes South. End of the concrete of the launch can be rough in lower water.

Thanks for the warnings, If I see a lot of wind in the a.m. we will go to Chinook. I have a deep V 19.5, and 300' of anchor rope that I plan on using it all. We may not get out till 12 or so and low tide is at about 2 up there so hopefully it mellows out a bit.

I was up there today and it was beautiful most of the morning. Later in the day a few squawls blew through but they passed pretty quickly. Tomorrow should be great from what I see.
Be careful if you're in the shipping lanes, and let out plenty of anchor rode but don't stress too much ... lots of other boats... you'll see the game pretty quickly.

Wheatie, I'll be out there tomorrow with Mike Tupper. You can look for us in a Blue Northriver with grey top and a Yamaha kicker on the back. Be glad to help you out. I didn't talk to Craig so I don't know if he's working or taking Colleen out. He owes her after going to two Mariner games in one week. See you out there.

Got hit by the western wind yesterday and had to run the kicker at 1/3+ throttle in reverse to keep the boat from comming about. Put a 43, 45, and a 50 in the boat plus 50 or so shakers. Smelt #1 bait and pickled squid #2 bait. Friend of mine went 5 for 6 on the oversized with shad.
P.S leave alot of room between you and the next boat because of the wind.

I couldn't get up there early and got turned off by all the boats and parking out near the freeway entrance!!! Went to The State park and up towards The Wall, but hid a bit behind the point to avoid the full force of the wind. Got to practice anchor pulls so not a waste of time. One 37"er and two shakers. It does sound like a lot more keeper fish up there.
