Default Anybody takin their kids tomorrow ?

Taking my daughter on her first official duck hunt in the state wide youth opener tomorrow. Just wondering if anyone else is doing the same. Should be great fun even if not many ducks get shot. I'll post back with results.

Default Re: Anybody takin their kids tomorrow ?

Got to the lake about 30 minutea before shooting light this morning. Put out a half dz. dekes and sat on our buckets. The full moon had everything lit up 20 minutes before legal shooting. Must have seen 30 mallards in the 20 minutes prior. Once the time was right we had two chances. Both ended the same. My daughter rose up off her bucket to shoot, the duck rose up off the water and she stood there as the duck flew away. No shots were fired. We had a long discussion about getting that shot off in a hurry. Things were over by 8am. We're headed back out tomorrow for an encore. Hopefully she can get a couple of shots off. She sure got excited when those ducks were buzzing us. How a bout some other reports?
