Default 1st Period Sauvie Apps due today...

Don't forget to get your Sauvie Island Hunt permit applications in today for the 1st period (Oct 12-28th.)

Glad I checked, I thought it was next Friday. For more info check from page 38 on in the current bird regs.

If you are new to duckhunting at Sauvie. The east side unit of the WMA is managed based on a permit draw hunt similar to big game. You apply for a date(s) and a hunt unit(s) on the east side. There are several periods and you can apply for all at the same time or individually. Group applications are also available. If you don't get a permit you can still jump in the 'sweat line' and hope you get in and get a decent spot. You will only be awarded one permit per hunt period.

Hey Lured In.

I put in for Aaron, Malarky, and Johnson. I figure they shoot as good as any early on. I was thinking though. Maybe we should do an ifish party hunt once or twice this season (go in on a party draw for a blind or two). I always go by myself and hunt different eastside and goose units, but it might be a cool way to meet some regular ifish waterfowlers. Plus if we all put our geese out for a couple of Oak Island hunts, I bet we could have quite the spread...

Just a thought...
