Re: Fishery reports??
Been up there that last two Satuday's and the results have been mixed. Two weeks ago it was somkin' above Beacon Rock (now closed). Seems as there are the have's and have nots. While I am not a sturgeon expert, normally I can keep up with the "10%". I have been blanked both days on keepers.
That aside some folks are getting one or two, and those who have the know how are limiting out with some effort.
Good luck.

Re: Fishery reports??
I got a 48" incher there yesterday, but realeased it. We hit the water about 11:30 a.m....didn't see much rod bending going on at all.
As ****** says..."The afternoons are slow, but then they (sturgeon) seem to wake up again about 4 p.m."
Was the case yesterday. Also..they musta cut loose some water about that time, as we went from around 12 oz. to 30's.
Had to pull the plug at 6 p.m....but I wanted to stay

Re: Fishery reports??
Went last Saturday and had a wonderful day, 4 fisherman 4 Keepers. I only caught one fish for the day, though it was the biggest on the boat 57". Other fish were 48" 49.5" and 51". All fish were a little on the chunky side, I don't know what they have been eating but the 3 small ones were caught on smelt and mine on a shad strip. Total of 29 fish were caught, really hot in the A.M. but by 10:00 slowed down, real slow. I think only 1 or 2 fish caught after that. I did see the boat next to us hook, chase and release a 78" monster gator, looked like fun. We were fishing the north side of the channel halfway between Beacon Rock and "the Fishery" Good luck tommorrow. Be safe.

Re: Fishery reports??
Sorry for the late reply. I was there yesterday, had lotsa fun. I won all 3 bets (first, biggest, and most) out of 4 guys (who all stiffed me). Biggest was 8-9' (wouldn't hold still long enough for a measurement). It was cool to see a fish that big jump, but my arms are still sore!
Anyway, for the usefull part of the report, I was using smelt (no scent added, but stabbed and squished for added trail). The other guys did just about as well on pizza toppings (anchovies with a sandshrimp). Tried herring and shad strips for a while with no love. Total of 27 landed (should have been more - hookup ratio in the 50% range); all but the monster were fresh fish with bright white bellies and very sharp scutes; several in the 38-41" range, but no keepers.
Here's the kicker: I loaned my little Smokercraft to my girlfriend's kid yesterday to fish in the MC while I was gone, and he came home with a nice fresh 48" gator. So, based on my girlfriend's belief that "if it ain't in the freezer, it doesn't count", I got outfished even though I caught a world-class pre-historic monster! Go figure?

Re: Fishery reports??(pics added)
Just got back from the fishery, had a great time with 2 keepers in the boat. 46 and a fat 48 that my 12 year old son caught , saw 2 or 3 o/s hooked and released, probably caught 60 shakers or so with several in the 40 inch range, smelt and squid was the go to bait with a few caught on shad strips, water is really rippin'. Needed 16 to 20 oz to stay on the bottom. Lots of boats including many guides boats. Thanks for all the reports. Will try to post some pictures tomorrow time for some
