Default my little boy's growing up......

Last night, we signed up my soon-to-be five year old for fall kindergarten. It's really funny, my daughter was so ready for school, we'd have had her in a year earlier, if she wasn't already the youngest in her class... But my son, it seems to us like he's still at least a year away from being ready. I know, everyone says that's normal for boys, and especially 2nd borns, but he sure seems young.

Quick brag....my daughter is at the head of the 2nd grade in the three classes at her school, using some of the standard testing stuff they do in-house......but, that's to be expected, considering both of her parents are land surveyors!!  Just one bad comment on her progress report, "wayyyyy to social during group times" I wonder who she got that from!!

Enjoy this time of your children's lives. They grow up too fast. When my boys were that age I was anxious for them to get bigger so they could be more independent on hunting and fishing trips. Now they've grown up I really miss those times when they were totally dependent on me and they believed that I knew everything. Every little thing was new and exciting to them. We still have great times together, but there's never anytime of life like those precious pre-teen years. Spend all the time you possibly can with them now. Later all you'll have are the memories of it.
