Puppy name

just got a new 7 week old yellow lab pup. Tryin to figure out a name for her, any suggestions anyone??

watch the dog for a few days and you will come up with a name.

I named my setters after shotguns,,,
Parker and Ithaca....

Single syllables are a bit easier, or single syllable nicknames. Make sure they don't rhyme with family members or "No!".

Some people like regular names like Fred, Bob , Max, Jane etc.
Of course there are the "y's"
Molly
Millie
Sammy
Josie
Billy

Then there are the hunting theme names:
Sprig
Teal
Honker
Mallard Muncher

Then there is my favorite: "Gator Bait"

I heard a good one for a female, Sage. I thought it sounded all birdie like, but ganja not bad either. E.

Pick a name from somewhere around the area you hunt.

Some of mine: Tygh, Jordan, Payne, Hyatt, Milo, Badger.

You get the idea.

I've got a Springer named Ruger. I like that name a lot. Gunner is a good name too for a hunting dog (in fact, I want to name my first son Gunnar, but my wife objects....)

From experience, just don't name her Buddy.

After years of tell the dog what he can't do, I'm firmly convinced the dog thinks his name is:

Nobuddy.

Thanks for the ideas, I really appreciate it. I really wanted Sage. Ended up having to take a family vote and she was named Madison, which we call her Madie for short. She is extremely smart and I believe she will be a great hunter.
