Default Another lover of my cow call

Well last night another 5 pt hit the skids from my sweet cow call. I seduced the odd looking bull within 25 yards of my buddy who last weekend helped me all night pack my big bull out last week and he placed an arrow thru his chest. After a long track, which still confuses me, he managed to end up in the back of the truck. I'll post some pics if he scans them. He had the only camera, so I'll pester him for them.

The salmon are looking so good right now!!

Great work! I know that it is almost always the operator of the call, not the call itself. But, I'm still curious. What kind of call do you use?

I actually prefer to use a call that's made by Backcountry calls made in Wyoming I believe. The main reason I use it is because I believe in having a call that is a little different than others in the area, aka sceery, carltons, etc.... You can find them at backcountry.com if you want to check em out. The reason they got my attention is they won the last 4 RMEF calling contests. Yes a large part of that is the caller but the reed I'm using is so smooth and easy to operate that it convinced me. I use a primos bugle though, but lately I've only been doing small chuckles when I first start calling to entice the bigger bulls that there's another bull in the area. Not for fighting but a little jealousy purposes. Seems to be working pretty well.

Hey BOE, have you got any shots at all?? Are you hunting West or East?? I may be east the last week calling for buddies. If you're over there I may be able to sneak one over for a fellow Ifisher.

TC - I have not thrown an arrow yet this year. :depressed: But it is just a matter of time.

I am hunting east. This weekend I will be buck hunting with my rifle in the cascades.

I will have the last week off and if you are in the area I am in, maybe we could drink a beer or 2 in the evening. I am looking forward to getting away from some of the weekend crowd.

I will have to go check out the call you mentioned. I am using a hoochie mama for the first time this year. It is easy to use and sounds pretty good most of the time. With the adjustment on it, you can sound a little different from your partner.
